Abortion: The Abortion Matrix - The Occult Origin of Child Sacrifice
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 1 -
The Religion of Witchcraft and Child Sacrifice
by Eric Holmberg and Jay Rogers
On August 4, 1992, two employees of Aware Woman Center for Choice, Veronica Jordan and Rebecca Morris, registered a non-profit religious corporation known as the Wiccan Religious Cooperative of Florida (WRCF). The stated purpose of the WRCF is to provide an umbrella organization for witch covens throughout the state of Florida. The incorporation papers list two abortion clinic employees its directors. Aware Woman Center for Choice is one of Florida's largest abortion clinics.
Shortly after the Wiccan Religious Cooperative of Florida was founded, Carol Ebbing, another Aware Woman abortion clinic employee, ordered this book entitled: The Sacrament of Abortion.
The book, authored by Ginnette Paris, presents abortion as "a sacred act."
Paris calls abortion "a sacrifice to Artemis, who refuses to give life if the gift is not pure" (that is innocent or preborn life).
The January 1993 issue of the Wiccan Open Circle newsletter described the founding of the Wiccan Religious Cooperative of Florida:
"A year ago the dream of an umbrella group under which many covens would function and be committed to peace and harmony 'For The Good Of All,' was just that, a dream. But now it is a reality and a very, very big part of the lives of many people."
This same newsletter, published at the time the pro-life organization, Operation Rescue National, held an event in Melbourne, Florida, alerted Central Florida area Wiccans and Pagans.
"... steps are being taken to protect not only Aware Woman, but a woman's right to choose. Work is being done mundanely, financially, and magically, to help get through the next few months and beyond."
Readers of Open Circle were encouraged to become "clinic escorts" - and were told how they could help fund the South Brevard National Organization of Woman's program to "help low income women have abortions."
Wiccans were also encouraged to work their magic on the area surrounding the Aware Woman abortion clinic:
"... many individuals and groups have been helping to magically protect the building and property ... This has been done by magical and psychic shielding being put on and around the property...."
Is this just an aberration; a bizarre but one-of-a-kind example of an abortion clinic that happens to have ties to a witches' coven? Or is it representative of something deeper, more sinister and, yes, even endemic to the entire abortion movement?
When we consider abortion, most people immediately think of the medical procedure with all its profound social and political implications. These have and will continue to be well-known, discussed and debated. But what few understand are the deeper spiritual realities that swirl beneath its surface. And it's here, when we pull the lid off and examine this ancient procedure from a biblical and spiritual perspective, its far greater implications are revealed.
And that is precisely what we will attempt to do in this presentation; to gain an eternal, God's-eye-view on what has become one of the most common medical procedures in the world. For those with eyes to see and hearts to understand and obey, abortion will no longer be just a political or social issue. It will be seen as a key component in vast spiritual conspiracy -- one rooted in paganism and the tradition of child sacrifice -- one that manifests the very essence and power of hell itself -- and one that will ultimately determine if the nation that practices it will live...or die.
The Abortion Matrix is made up of short, separate but interconnected chapters; individual essays that examine the reality and ramifications of abortion from a number of what we trust are interesting, compelling albeit very sobering perspectives. In this, it lends itself perfectly to repeated viewing with discussion and prayer in a Sunday school, home church, classroom or devotional setting. And both the conclusion as well as the extras on this DVD are replete with all manner of action items so that you can be a doer as well as a hearer of the Word of God.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:22
And one last thing before we get started. By virtue of our subject matter, what follows will not be pretty, pleasant or accommodating... for anyone. Like the many documentaries about the Final Solution and the Nazi death camps, this presentation simply seeks to bring this new holocaust into the light so that the murders will one day stop and we can echo the cry of those who saw what happened at Dachau, Treblinka and Auschwitz: "NEVER AGAIN."
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 2 : Part 1 -
Abortion in Biblical Perspective
By Eric Holmberg and Jay Rogers
From genetics to ultrasound, fetoscopy to fetal surgery, modern science has granted us an unprecedented look into the development of a pre-born child. For example, only eight weeks after conception -- around the time many women find out they're pregnant -- the baby's heart -- which has already been beating for two weeks -- now has two chambers. Though less than an inch in length, she has started practicing movements, her face has begun to take shape, teeth have begun to develop, along with the legs, arms, feet, hands and eyes. It's obvious that the developing fetus is no mere "blob of tissue," as the abortion industry would like us to believe, but rather a remarkably well-developed baby boy or girl.
It's no wonder that on the basis of the scientific evidence alone, many experts in the field will echo the opinion of renowned geneticist Dr. Jerome LeJeune:
"Life has a long history but each individual has a very neat beginning: the moment of its conception."
But while genetic and other medical evidence certainly support the idea that human life begins at conception, the Bible, the very word of God -- and not science -- is our ultimate source for Truth. And the scriptures make it very, very clear that human life begins -- and is sacred -- from the very moment of conception.
In fact, it's a fascinating though little known fact that one of the very names of God points to the sanctity of life from the time it begins in the womb.
In the 34th chapter of Exodus Moses appears before the LORD and intercedes on behalf of His people, asking God to reveal "His glory." Part of the LORD's response was to reveal to Moses the divine Name as well as key aspect of His nature:
The Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord...."The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious." Exodus 34: 5
George Grant: "The Hebrew word that we translate here as "merciful" - rachuwm -- has as its root racham -- meaning to love or have compassion. That word also serves as the root for rechem -- the word that is used in the Hebrew Scriptures for womb -- for example in the famous passage describing God's foreknowledge of Jeremiah and the manner in which he was lovingly knit together inside his mother:
Before I formed you in the womb (in the rechem) I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. Jeremiah 1:5
The womb then, in its original Hebrew context, was not only the matrix, the sacred place where a new human, an image-bearer of God was conceived, formed, nurtured and then born, it also was -- and should be treated -- as a place of mercy.
Jesus declared in Matthew 5:7, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy." But the converse must also be true. When people, for their own convenience, send their swords into that place of life and mercy, defiling the sanctuary of the rechem - the womb - they would do well to consider Christ's sober warning concerning the wages earned by those who use violence to accomplish their own ends:
"Those who live by the sword, shall die by the sword." Matthew 26:52
Among the most profound, world-changing truths we can ever contemplate is that Jesus, the promised Savior of the world, God Incarnate, was: "conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary" (Apostle's Creed).
When Gabriel announced to Mary that she was to conceive and give birth to the Messiah, she naturally asked how this could be -- seeing that she was yet a virgin. The angel replied:
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God." (Luke 1:35)
Gabriel graciously went even further, citing the incredible pregnancy of her cousin Elizabeth as proof that supernatural pregnancies are no problem for God.
The once barren and old beyond-her-child bearing years woman was at this point six-months pregnant with her son John -- who would later be known as the Baptist. Mary responded with perhaps the purest expression of faith to be found anywhere in Scripture:
Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word. (Luke 1:38)
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 2 : Part 2 -
Abortion in Biblical Perspective
But it is what happened next that provides us with the most powerful and irrefutable argument for the personhood and sanctity of pre-born life.
In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. (Luke 1: 39-44)
Note several things here:
First, Jesus at this moment was well within the first trimester of His development as a fetus; perhaps only just a few weeks or even a few days old.
Second, when Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting her baby, John, the one who would serve to prepare the way for Jesus, moved in some dramatic way while she was simultaneously filled with the Holy Spirit.
Now another verse of scripture comes into play here. When an angel announced to Zechariah, Elizabeth's husband and John's dad, the miraculous conception of John, God's messenger declared something very unusual:
"... he (John) will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb." (Luke 1:15) Likely the in-utero John was filled with the Holy Spirit at the same moment his mother was: when they heard the voice of Mary, pregnant with the very, very small, developing Jesus.
Now a few critically important things need to be understood here. First, only humans, as image-bearers of God, can be vessels of the Holy Spirit. The in-utero John, as just such a vessel, was recognized by God Himself as being fully human. Note also that the scriptures refer here to John as the "baby" -- the Greek word brephos -- that leaped in the womb.
In the next chapter of Luke, it refers again to a baby, a brephos, but this time it is Jesus, born and now lying in a manger. (Show: "And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby (brephos) lying in a manger." Luke 2: 16) In-utero or extra-utero, it makes no difference. We're still talking about a baby, a fact that if we are honest with ourselves is still the way we refer to the pre-born today.
The documentary film Lake of Fire provided a startling insight into this simple truth...as well as the mental gymnastics people who support abortion have to undergo to deny it. Famed attorney, liberal activist and abortion support Alan Dershowitz: [CLIP].
So according to this so-called logic -- one that plays a big part in the abortion-on-demand movement -- an in-utero person doesn't really exist until her parents recognize her personhood and want her to exist. Talk about man playing God!
Back to the in-utero John being filled with the Holy Spirit: we can also see a surprising degree of sentience here on his part. John leapt because he recognized and understood at some deep, pre-rational level the presence of Mary and Jesus -- a fact that modern neonatologists now recognize from a developmental perspective. In-utero children are far more aware of the world both inside and outside the womb than we would have every imagined -- making abortion an even greater abomination.
Lastly, note again what Elizabeth said to Mary: And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? (Luke 1:43) Elizabeth didn't say "future mother" or "mother of the one who will one day be my Lord." Everything was emphatically present tense. Mary was a mother -- "with child" is the common expression -- and the Lord Jesus Christ was as fully present at that moment as He was when the Apostle Thomas said almost the same words as he beheld the wounds of the resurrected Christ: "My Lord and my God."
Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28).
And there are other verses in scripture that make the full humanity of the pre-born child just as clear:
"For Thou didst form my inward parts. Thou didst weave me in My mother's womb. I will give thanks to Thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalms 139:13).
"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. And before you were born I consecrated you" (Jeremiah 1:5).
"... the Lord who made you and formed you in the womb ..." (Isaiah 44:2).
According to Scripture, abortion is a sin against God - a violation of the sixth commandment, "You shall not murder."
It is the wanton killing of innocent human life in the womb - a place designed by God to be a refuge of life and mercy. And that is precisely why in the Didache -- a pastoral manual that represents the early Church's understanding and practice concerning everything from baptism to the Eucharist clearly stated: "...thou shalt not procure abortion, nor commit infanticide." (Didache 2:2)
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 3 -
The Devil's Mousetrap
By Eric Holmberg
The great father of the early Church, Aurelius Augustine, famously called Jesus' cross "the devil's mousetrap" and that the bait which caught Satan was the death of the Lord.
"The Lord's cross was the devil's mousetrap: the bait which caught him was the death of the Lord." (St. Augustine, Sermons, 261, trans. by Henry Bettenson, ed., The Later Christian Fathers: A Selection From the Writings of the Fathers from St. Cyril of Jerusalem to St. Leo the Great. Oxford, Oxford University Press, 1970, 1977. p. 222.)
Augustine understood well what Paul had written to the church at Corinth:
None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Corinthians 2:8
By inspiring the Jews and Romans to crucify Jesus, Satan cut his own throat. The "law of unintended consequences" went nuclear.
Through the cross the once and for all sacrifice for sins was accomplished, setting God's people free from the condemnation and ultimate power of sin and its wages, death.
As a perfect keeper of God's law, Jesus didn't deserve death and so was soon vindicated by the Holy Spirit by way of the resurrection. This brought Him forth as the first-born from the dead and enabled us to follow wreaking all manner of disastrous consequences on the kingdom of darkness.
It put Jesus as a glorified man on the throne of heaven and earth and granted us sanctuary access -- again with all manner of awesome benefits in our battle against the world, the flesh and the devil.
We could go on and on ...
But God's plays fair; His blessings are always mirrored by corresponding curses. If the one who was a murderer from the beginning can, for example, get us to commit murder, then all Satan has to do is get out of the way and watch as God's holiness -- and corresponding wrath -- begins to burn.
Make no mistake about it: the Lord's anger burns against the hands that shed innocent blood.
... the Lord hates ... the hands that shed innocent blood. Proverbs 6:16,17
"When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood." Isaiah 1:15
And they have built the high places ... to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire ... Therefore ... the dead bodies of this people will be food for the birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth. Jeremiah 7:31-33
Throughout the rest of his book, Jeremiah issues dreadful warnings about the judgments God was bringing against Israel for its sins -- most notably the polluting of the land with innocent blood. ... because they have filled this place with the blood of innocents. Jeremiah 19:4 (see also 7:6; 22:3,17; 26:15)
These judgments were fulfilled in 587 BC when the Babylonians sacked and destroyed Jerusalem, taking the wretched people who survived the holocaust into captivity.
On September 11th, 2001 AD, America froze in shock and disbelief as two planes took out the World Trade Center and 3000 people died. Cries of anger and vengeance arose that propelled America into wars that continue to this day.
Now, how do you think God feels when even more people die every day in America through abortion? And these deaths are not random acts of terror but are instead calmly sanctioned by our courts, protected by our laws and, for the most part, ignored by the church that God has commissioned to be salt and light.
How much longer do you think before the devil's mousetrap is fully sprung?

The Origin of Child Sacrifice
The Origin of Child Sacrifice
by Eric Holmberg and Jay Rogers
In confronting the sin of abortion, we must begin by focusing on it from a spiritual perspective. For as the Bible reminds us:
"Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12).
Our primary enemy in fighting abortion is not the abortionist, the courts, or those who advocate for abortion-on-demand. Our enemy is the one who was a murderer from the beginning -- Satan and the spiritual forces under his command.
Throughout history, these spiritual forces have operated primarily amid pagan cultures, inspiring people to sacrifice human infants to their deities as part of a complex ritual to gain favors from them.
And while few involved in abortion today are consciously engaging in child sacrifice, we need to understand that in the end that is precisely what abortion is: the sacrifice of a human life for the convenience or needs of others. In this respect, it is no less barbaric than the human sacrifice practiced to ensure, for example, a successful harvest. But beyond this, there is a spiritual, satanically inspired dimension that gives frightening realism to abortion's identification with literal child sacrifice.
The Bible supports this idea as often we see a particular action viewed by God as a manifestation of another, more fundamental sin -- and sometimes one with a root in the occult. For example, Rebellion is called witchcraft (1 Samuel 15:23). Greed is likened to idolatry (Col. 3:5). Both lustful looks and desiring first the things of this world are equated with adultery (Matthew 5:28, James 4:4). Simply hating ones brother is akin to murder (1 John 3:15). And in the same way, abortion is simply a form of child sacrifice.
Lot and His Daughters
The biblical origins of child sacrifice can be found in the account of Lot and his daughters:
"And Lot went up from Zoar and stayed in the mountains with his two daughters...Then the first born said to the younger, 'Our father is old and there is not a man on earth to come into us after the manner of the earth'" (Genesis 19: 30, 31).
Now it so happens that there actually were men available not too far away geographically. But Lot's daughters had something different in mind. The "earth" throughout scripture is a symbol of the fallen, unregenerate realm, the arena over which Satan exerts his authority. James tells us, for example that there's a wisdom from above that is "pure and peaceable," but there's also a wisdom from below which is "earthly, natural and demonic" (James 3:15,17).
In the same way that many modern feminists want men purely on their own terms -- for example merely as sperm donors -- Lot's daughters wanted a man in this "manner of the earth."
"So they made their father drink wine that night and laid with him" (Genesis 19:29-38).
Through this gross act of rebellion -- against both their father and God -- both women became pregnant; the oldest with a son she named Moab. His descendents, the Moabites, ultimately became an idolatrous nation and one of the primary enemies of God's people -- Israel.
The youngest daughter's son -- Ben Ammi -- became the father of the sons of Ammon. In the Book of Kings we learn that Moloch was "... the detestable idol of the Ammonites" (1 Kings 11:7). The name Moloch in Hebrew means: "to ascend the throne" -- to, in other words, usurp God's rightful authority. Leviticus tells us that Moloch worship involved "giving one's children to him" -- an idiom meaning to offer them as a sacrifice.
"Any one of the people of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech shall surely be put to death" (Leviticus 20:2).
While the Ammonites primarily practiced infanticide -- sacrificing post-natal children -- it's no coincidence that it was the Ammonites that God condemned in the book of Amos for a particular form of blood-thirstiness:
"For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, and for four, will I not revoke its punishment, because they have ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to enlarge their borders" (Amos 1:13).
More than just expanding the boundaries of one's lands, "enlarging their borders" can also suggest pushing the envelope as far as what is considered acceptable human conduct. How common this still is today as what was once considered a crime against humanity is now accepted by our courts as a so-called right; as people insist that abortion is just a "choice" and pro-lifers are to keep religion -- meaning God -- out of sight and mind.
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 5 : Part 1 -
The History of Human Sacrifice
by Eric Holmberg and Jay Rogers
Man was created in God's own image, and it is precisely for this reason that killing of innocent human life is an abomination and a capital offense in the eyes of God.
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. -- Genesis 1:27
"Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man."
- Genesis 9:6
As horrific and hard to comprehend as it may be, one of the most widespread forms of worship among ancient peoples involved human sacrifice. Not only in Canaan, but also in northern Africa, India, Europe, and the Americas, the ancients believed that the blood of the sacrifice is what appeased the gods.
The pagan practice of blood sacrifice is actually a perversion of the rites given by God to His people, Israel.
To its priests He declared:
"For the life of the creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul" (Leviticus 17:11).
Sacrifice to any other god was condemned as idolatry:
"They shall no more offer their sacrifices to demons, after whom they have played the harlot. This shall be as statute forever for them throughout their generations" (Leviticus 17:7).
As we look at the practice of human sacrifice in ancient times, keep in mind that, according to God's perspective, these sacrifices were made to demons -- the false gods of the pagan nations.
Carthage
The ancient city of Carthage was the capital of the Phoenician empire, one of the most advanced civilizations of their time. But recent archaeological expeditions have revealed another notable feature -- the incredibly high incidence of child sacrifice. Altars on which children were sacrificed and stone markers, which marked the burial place of their remains, have been uncovered -- along with the stone carvings on the markers that depict the children who were sacrificed. Clay jars were used to hold the remains. Burial grounds full of thousands of these ritually sacrificed children have been unearthed.
The Carthaginians were descendants of the ancient Canaanites and worshipped the same god, Baal or Moloch. Archaeologists have established that the primary deity that they children were sacrificed to was the goddess Tanet, the name being a regional representation of the more universal Ashteroth. Written accounts tell us that the priests of Baal would beat drums during the ritual sacrifice in order to drown out the cries of the grieving mothers.
As barbaric as all this may sound, we must remember that we are do much the same thing through abortion... with one obvious exception. Today we don't commemorate or bury the children we sacrifice.
It would be easy to attribute these ancient sacrificial rites to primitive superstition and believe that science and intellectual advancement would eventually cause this type of brutality to lessen and finally cease. But archaeologists have also discovered that over Carthage's history, the incident of child sacrifice, even in the face of considerable intellectual advances, actually increased... until it suddenly stopped.
And how did it end? When God judged Carthage. Roman armies invaded and destroyed the entire civilization, going so far as to cover the ground with vast amounts of salt so that the land could no longer be cultivated. The reason for this magnitude of destruction? The Romans, pagan though they were, were horrified by the degree of cruelty and evil that gave rise to these sacrifices and wanted to make sure that their civilization was completely obliterated.
To this day, the stark ruins of Carthage stand as a testimony that God is not mocked. This should also prompt us to ask ourselves a critically important question: How far are we from facing a similar judgment for our own commitment to rampant child sacrifice?
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 5 : Part 2 -
The History of Human Sacrifice
The Roman historian, Tacitus, records that the ancestors of the English speaking peoples, the Angles, sacrificed to the Mother Earth Goddess. In his Germania, On the Origin and Geography of Germany, Tacitus describes this gruesome ritual as "a ceremony performed by slaves who are immediately afterward drowned in the lake." Jumping ahead a few centuries, the Celtic and Northern German tribes -- the ancestors of English and German speaking peoples -- were commonly pagan idolaters who sacrificed their own children to the Mother Goddess. Child sacrifice and abortion were practiced and were accepted as facts of everyday life -- the necessary consummation of their rampant sexual immorality. Where did the practice of child sacrifice ultimately take these societies? The Canaanites, Carthaginians, Indians, Aztecs, and Northern Europeans -- everyone who practiced open, culturally-sanctioned human sacrifice to pagan gods and goddesses -- were eventually destroyed, wiped out by invading armies. The lesson for us so-called "moderns"? Nations must obey God's eternal Law concerning the sanctity of innocent human life -- or face the dire consequences.
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 6 : Part 1 -
Modern Witchcraft and Child Sacrifice
Entering the modern era, in 15th century Italy, Pope Innocent VIII was so concerned about the rise of witchcraft that he commissioned Kraemer and Sprenger's famous Malleus Maleficarum, a treatise on Witchcraft. Commissioned in 1484, the treatise repeatedly links witchcraft to abortion and child sacrifice: "Witches who are midwives in various ways kill the child conceived in the womb and procure an abortion."
During the reign of Louis XIV, for example, there was a network of occult activity involving abortion and infanticide that reached even into the King's courts. Investigating a series of suspicious deaths, the Lieutenant General of the police in Versailles was led to Madame de Montespan, Louis' favorite lover, and then to "La Voisin", a practicing witch and abortionist who had provided the poisons used in the murders. Upon further investigation, he learned that the abortion services connected with satanic rituals were also being performed -- primarily for female members of the aristocracy. The following is the testimony of la Voisin's daughter at the subsequent trial:
"At one of Madame de Montespan's masses, I saw my mother bring an infant, obviously premature, and place it over a basin over which its throat was slit, and its blood drained into the chalice."
Note that the child was premature, likely the victim of one of the many abortions la Voisin had performed.
"Then the cup filled with the baby's blood was lifted up to heaven and this invocation was given: 'Hail Ashteroth and Asmodeus, Princes of friendship, I conjure you to accept the sacrifice of this child in return for the favors asked of you.'"
Ashteroth was the goddess wife of Moloch. Asmodeus is a transliteration of the Hebrew name for a demon that is normally associated with lust. Aborted children, as well as infants purchased from the prostitutes and the destitute were being sacrificed in a satanic ritual designed to grant spiritual power to the practitioners.
"At her trial la Voisin confessed that no less than 2,500 babies had been disposed of in this manner...."
Historians debate whether these tales of Satanic Black Masses and rumors of ritual infant sacrifices are in fact reliable. Were they coaxed out of frightened witnesses by Gabriel De La Reynie, the Lieutenant General of Police in Versaille, who used torture as part of his interrogation techniques? Or were these simply folk rituals combined with elements of the Catholic mass that served to assuage the conscience of La Voisin as she came to terms with the moral implications of the many abortions she performed?
In the book, Affair of the Poisons, Murder, Infanticide, and Satanism in the Court of Louis XIV, author Anne Somerset offers this explanation:
"La Voisin appears genuinely to have believe in the power of magic but she combined this with an outward profession of piety. As the circumstances of her arrest suggested, she was a regular churchgoer, and her answers to her interrogators would abound with devout sentiments and respectful invocations of the 'Good Lord.' When she finally began to make significant revelations she would claim that she was doing so 'for the glory of the Lord,' who had commanded her to heed His will as she knelt in prayer. Earlier in her career her readiness to imply that she was in tune with the workings of providence had stood her in good stead, for clients were comforted by her apparent belief that her personal activities were compatible with Christianity. It may be that La Voisin herself was scarcely aware of any contradiction. Once, having assisted at an abortion, she was said to have wept tears of joy when the midwife in attendance baptized the fetus. Far from being troubled at having terminated the unborn child's existence, she exulted in having been instrumental in securing its salvation."
Witchcraft? Black masses? Infant blood sacrifice? It does seem far-fetched. It's no wonder that some historians are skeptical. But when we consider the culture of the time, the picture comes into sharper focus. The French Renaissance saw the revival of interest in the Greek and Roman gods. King Louis XIV himself loved paintings with mythological themes and had a particular fascination with the sun god, Apollo. In paintings of that era, Louis is portrayed as the "sun king." La Voisin, no doubt, shared Louis' fascination with pagan gods and goddesses. She mixed this with a kind of folk witchcraft, herbalism, astrology, and the concoction of love potions and various poisons, including potions used to induce abortion.
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 6 : Part 2 -
Modern Witchcraft and Child Sacrifice
The book of Exodus contains a biblical injunction that in our relativistic, increasingly pagan age appears to some as controversial, absurd or even immoral.
"You shall not suffer a witch to live" (Exodus 22:18).
This verse is as poorly understood today as it was during the medieval period when it was used to justify killing people who were reputed to be involved in paganism, animism and other earth-oriented religions. In its proper context -- and we must always remember that a text without a context is a mere pretext -- this verse was and is primarily about protecting human life.
In biblical times, those executed for witchcraft were not punished for merely casting spells. The death penalty for those living within Israel that practiced sorcery was prescribed because of their monstrous practice of child sacrifice.
God had warned Israel not to intermingle with the Canaanite tribes - worshippers of Baal, Asherah, Moloch and Ashteroth - because they were idolaters who routinely sacrificed their children to demons. But instead of separating themselves from them as the Lord commanded,
"...they mixed with the nations and learned to do as they did." Psalm 106:35
And so the Israelites became increasingly accustomed to and then enticed by the sex rituals the pagans practiced, eventually engaging in them. Soon they were lured into also worshipping the dark deities that stood behind the rituals -- Moloch, Baal and Ashteroth most specifically. And then the final trap was sprung.
"They served their idols, which became a snare to them. They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood. Thus they became unclean by their acts, and played the whore in their deeds" (Psalm 106: 36-39).
And the Israelites here are far from unique. Why do we see the practice of human sacrifice throughout world history? The Word of God declares:
"The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun" (Ecclesiastes 1:9).
In other words, "history repeats itself." That being true, we must then ask ourselves: Is idolatry and human sacrifice still alive and well? Has the same process of co-mingling, seduction, sexual idolatry and finally child sacrifice taken place in our day?
Like the ancient Israelites, 20th century Americans were first enticed by the sexual revolution that took place during the early 20th century, what is often referred to as the Roaring Twenties. Industrialization, the automobile, the rapid spread of information through radio and print media, the birth of cinema and a number of other cultural phenomena unleashed a wave of new ideas and possibilities that the Church at the time was ill prepared to address. As a result, biblical standards, particularly as regards sexual mores, began to fray and then break.
Into this volatile mix stepped Margaret Sanger. Founder of the American Birth Control League and the abortion movement, Sanger is among history's best examples of destructive power of spiritual deception.
In a biography written by an admirer Sanger was described as having "...tried to dispel depression by sex, travel, Rosicrucianism (a cult), numerology, now she tried a new panacea - astrology."
Sanger was a confirmed adulteress who consistently and publicly supported a "woman's right to destroy." She became deeply involved with Havelock Ellis, a modern day false prophet who advocated a variety of bizarre sex practices supposing them to be the keys to spiritual enlightenment and power. For Margaret Sanger and her militantly (even religiously) promiscuous lifestyle, abortion became a necessary backup for contraceptive failure.
The American Birth Control League eventually became Planned Parenthood and has grown to be the single largest abortion provider in the world. Along with killing millions of babies, they have promoted promiscuity (and hence the demand for abortion) through sex education programs that frequently ignore and even mock biblical standards of modesty and chastity. And all of this comes with the support of your tax dollars -- to the tune of well over a quarter-of-a-billion dollars a year!

Witchcraft, Feminism and Child Sacrifice
Mention "Christianity versus witchcraft" and negative images of "the burning times," the Salem witch trials and outbreaks of religious hysteria among superstitious people come to many people's minds. It is here where we need to dispel the Hollywood image of the old crone of fairy tales such as Snow White or the Wizard of Oz. There is no doubt that many of those executed for witchcraft in the Middle Ages were innocent victims of gross superstition. Such terrible measures are to be condemned as being in complete opposition to the Spirit of Christ and the clear teaching of scripture. With that said, however, it is wrong to dismiss the genuine instances of demonically inspired activity history records.
20th Century Wicca
Dr. Gerald Gardner, an anthropologist, spent the early part of the 19th century studying groups that practiced magic around the world. At the time he believed that witchcraft as it had been practiced by pagan Europeans had been extinct for centuries. But in the 1930's Gardner discovered a group in Great Britain that was still practicing the "craft." Fascinated, Gardner was initiated into the coven, studied its rituals, and eventually became one of the foremost experts and advocates for the ancient religion.
At the time of Gardner's discovery, witchcraft was, in fact, on the edge of extinction. There were no known covens in the United States and some countries such as England had laws on the books outlawing witchcraft. On the publication of his book, Witchcraft Today, Gardner began to hear from other covens throughout Europe which had also survived. He spent the rest of his life writing on Wicca and promoting witchcraft throughout the world. Today, Gardner is regarded as the grandfather of modern Wicca and the primarily force behind its revival in the latter part of the 20th century.
One of Gardner's followers, Raymond Buckler, was initiated into the craft one year before Gardner's death in 1964. He introduced Wicca into the United States during the cultural sea change that was the 1960s. Buckler, like Gardner before him, believed that in modern-day Wicca, the rituals of the ancient earth religion had survived.
What exactly then, is modern Wicca?
Wiccans today draw their religious ideology from the Mother Earth cults of the Celtic and Nordic peoples of pre-Christian Europe.
The word "Wiccan" first appears in an early manuscript of an Anglo-Saxon scribe in the alliterative phrase: wyccan and waelcyrian, "witches and valkyries." The word in Old English denotes both men and women using magic arts. Modern Wiccans claim that their name means "wise one" and was the name of a matriarchal leader of a tribe skilled in healing, herbal lore and magic arts.
Although Wiccans deny using animal and human sacrifices in their rituals they do admit that they "pour out libations ... Some female Witches use their own menstrual blood in spells; other witches may prick themselves ... and offer a drop or two of their own blood. But the only blood a Witch has the right to offer is her/his own."
Do modern Wiccans view abortion as child sacrifice? To be fair, we must say that in our research we've received literally hundreds of letters and electronic communications from Wiccans around the world. The vast majority of Wiccans and Pagans deny that they have anything to do with human or animal sacrifice. They also deny that Wicca has anything to do with the abortion industry, nor do they view abortion as the sacrifice of the unborn in their rituals.
But all modern day Wiccans freely admit that the modern religion is traced to ancient Celtic and Northern German people, the very people who practiced human sacrifice.
Although the vast majority deny that they have anything to do with the practice of child sacrifice, Wiccans are hard pressed to explain a growing number of witches who argue that abortion is a witch's prerogative.

Witchcraft, Feminism and Child Sacrifice
Starhawk is a best-selling author and a highly regarded voice within witches' circles. She is also a licensed minister of the Covenant of the Goddess. Starhawk defended abortion this way:
It is in our encounter with the mysteries of birth and death ... that we meet the Goddess. So to take away our right to have that encounter [through abortion], to face that often painful and difficult choice, is to deny a woman's deepest spiritual self.
Zsuzsanna E. Budapest is a Hungarian-born witch considered to be the "Mother" of the feminist spirituality movement in the United States. She founded the first feminist witches coven here in the 1970s, the Susan B. Anthony Coven #1, which served as a template for other feminist covens across the country. A prolific writer, Budapest has provided spiritual justification for abortion and offered abortion rituals in her books. In The Grandmother of Time, Budapest wrote, "Abortion is the prerogative of the Dark Mother." (Zsuzsanna E. Budapest, The Grandmother of Time: A Woman's Book of Celebrations, Spells, and Sacred Objects for Every Month of the Year (New York: Harper, 1989), 127.)
"Dark Mother" is an allusion to the life-taking aspect of the goddess that always accompanies her fertile, sensual nature. Budapest believes abortion is a woman's "responsibility, making the choice of life and death as much a part of the Goddess as her life-giving good nature."
As one goddess worshipping witch put it, the goddess "who whets your appetite with sexual pleasure also whets the knife." (Nevada Kerr, "Abortion as a Sacred Rite," Snuff It, no. 4)
Ginnette Paris is author of the books, Pagan Meditations, Pagan Grace and The Sacrament of Abortion. She is a witch who currently serves on the Core Faculty of the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, California. In The Sacrament of Abortion, Paris writes:
It is morally acceptable that a woman who gives life may also destroy life ... whoever kills a fetus commits a murder.... (a fascinating and sobering acknowledgement of a biblical and scientific truth).
It is not immoral to choose abortion; it is simply another kind of morality, a pagan one ...
[O]ne can occasionally resort to abortion when it is necessary to sacrifice the fetus to a higher cause ...
In the book a woman is instructed to consider the reasons behind abortion. Paris asks, "To what ideal or what set of values is she sacrificing the fetus?" Her repeated reference to sacrifice is purposeful. Her entire book can be summed up as advocating abortion as a sacrifice to the goddess Artemis. Historically, the Goddess Artemis was worshiped as goddess of birth and goddess of blood sacrifice.
Abortion as a sacrifice to Artemis. Abortion as a sacrament -- for the gift of life to remain pure (Ginnette Paris, The Sacrament of Abortion (Spring Publications, POB 222069, Dallas, TX 75222, 1992) pp. 53, 56, 107 ; back cover.)
The post office box of an Aware Woman abortion clinic employee, Veronica Jordan, (P.O. Box 060192, Palm Bay, FL 32906) was the same mailing address for the Open Circle the Wiccan newsletter which recruited volunteers to work magic around the property of the abortion clinic.
Why then, if Wicca does not promote abortion as part of their religious belief, does this newsletter recruit "abortion clinic defenders" and rally Wiccans for pro-abortion demonstrations?
We see frequent Wiccan bumper stickers appearing on cars of abortion clinic workers: "THE GODDESS IS ALIVE AND MAGIC IS AFOOT" and "IN GODDESS WE TRUST."
Modern Feminism
What we are witnessing today is a return to ancient fertility rites -- when the gods and goddess of fertility were invoked through ritual sex -- and children were the accepted human sacrifice to ensure personal and communal prosperity. We are seeing a growing spiritual justification for abortion, a thinly veiled cover for ritual child sacrifice.
An example of the spiritual deception that so often leads to the trampling of the sanctity of life can be found in a newsletter published by the National Abortion Federation. It provides an account of their 1985 national convention. One of the speakers was Carter Heyward, an ordained Episcopal priest who has been active for many years in the feminist movement. In her address she stated: "If women were in charge, abortion would be a sacrament, an occasion of deep and serious and sacred meaning."
That an ordained leader of a church that supposedly represents Jesus to the world could describe child sacrifice as a sacrament or holy rite of the church without facing excommunication is a staggering illustration of the collective deception we are facing as a nation.

"Do What Thou Wilt" - Witchcraft and Satanism

Of course, while witchcraft, goddess worship and other forms of pagan spirituality serve to under-gird and empower the abortion industry, the vast majority of its supporters have no conscious interest in -- and may well even condemn -- such forms of occult spirituality. No matter. As long as they sacrifice or support the sacrifice of children to the idols of convenience -- they are, whether they realize it or not, ensnared by the devil, having been captured by him to do his will.
... come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been captured by him to do his will (2 Timothy 2:26).
As Jesus said to people who were even convinced that they were on God's side:
"You are of your father the devil ... and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning ..." (John 8:44).
But there's another spiritual dynamic feeding into the abortion industry that we should also consider.
The late 19th and early 20th centuries saw a growing interest in eastern mysticism, pagan spirituality and even occultism, particularly among the liberal elite in the West. Enlightenment humanism and higher criticism -- the field of textual analysis that increasingly questioned the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible -- created a spiritual vacuum into which flowed all manner of alternative and esoteric beliefs -- many of a sexual nature.
For example, renowned explorer Sir Richard Francis Burton found the exotic sexual practices of the orient fascinating and looked for ways to bring them back to the UK in order to challenge the prevailing Victorian morality. In 1883, he published the Kama Sutra, at the time barely known even in India, and turned it into the urtext of supposed sexual enlightenment. Ananga-Ranga (1885), The Perfumed Garden (1886) and essays sympathetic to homosexuality accomplished their purpose: semi-legitimizing perversion and launching a vigorous public debate about purity and pornography, desire and deviance, state regulation and personal freedom.
This, along with other subversive efforts, prepared the way for a rash of academics and clinicians who pioneered the so-called science of sexology. Far too often, this new "science" sought to normalize an ever-increasing variety of sexual behaviors while ignoring or even attacking God's standards on the subject.
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 8 : Part 2 -
"Do What Thou Wilt" - Witchcraft and Satanism
It was also quick to embrace the social philosophy of eugenics, a new field and term that was first formulated by Sir Francis Galton in 1883. Drawing on the recent work of his half-cousin Charles Darwin, Galton proposed that the human race could be improved by a sort of guided natural selection, encouraging the reproduction of some people while discouraging others. The latter category initially consisted of people with gross genetic and mental deficiencies but gradually some individuals and governments -- including America's -- expanded it to include the forced sterilization of the poor, the handicapped, even certain races and ethnicities. Eugenics also opened to door for abortion -- initially for babies with severe handicaps or who were products of rape -- where the tendency to rape was seen at the time as an inheritable characteristic. But gradually, in some countries -- again most notably in America -- abortion became accepted for almost any baby and for any reason. And while eugenics is today almost universally condemned as a socio-scientific theory, its stepchild -- abortion on demand -- is alive and well.
To take as just one example of this brave new world of scientific progressivism, let's consider the first "sex congress," held in Berlin in 1921. The World League for Sexual Reform was led by three pioneers in the field of sexology from Switzerland, England and Germany.
Auguste Forel (1848 -- 1931) had grown up in a pious Calvinistic home. Early on he developed religious doubts and at sixteen refused to be confirmed as a Christian. He spent the rest of his life attacking biblical standards -- what he called "religious mysticism" -- concerning human sexuality. An ardent socialist and eugenicist, in 1905 Forel authored "The Sexual Question" the first book to provide a comprehensive treatment of human sexuality from both biological and sociological perspectives. In it and other writings Forel championed homosexuality -- including homosexual marriage -- the decriminalization of incest and bestiality and was among the first to advocate abortion in the case of rape, danger to the mother's health, mental illness and similar contingencies. At a time when almost everyone viewed abortion as an immoral and criminal act, his was a very ground-breaking position.
Havelock Ellis (1859 -- 1939) a British sexologist and advocate for eugenics, wrote Sexual Inversion, the first English medical text book on homosexuality. In it he advocated the normalization of same-sex relationships, including consensual acts between men and boys. A fan of famed atheist philosopher Frederic Nietzsche and Fabian socialist and gay activist Edward Carpenter, Ellis authored a book on the two men, calling them "modern seers." He also advocated the use of psychotropic drugs -- for example, in his essay "Mescal: A New Artificial Paradise." In his personal life he married a lesbian and practiced open marriage, including as just one of his lovers, Margaret Sanger.
Magnus Hirschfield (1868 -- 1935) was a secularized Jew, eugenicist, socialist and homosexual who was the primary force behind the de-criminalization of homosexuality and turning Germany -- and particularly Berlin -- into a worldwide epicenter for the gay lifestyle. Germany at the time was also a hot-bed of occultism -- a revival that, just by the way, featured heavily in the formation of the SS, National Socialism and Hitler's Third Reich. In 1987 Hirschfield co-founded the Scientific-Humanitarian Committee, the first homosexual-rights organization in Western history. Another co-founder, Max Spohr, was a publisher who not only printed Hirschfield's and other lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender publications, he was also responsible for many of the occult texts that helped drive the revivals of occultism in Germany, France and the U.K.
Around the same time Aleister Crowley was making a name for himself as "the Beast 666" and "the wickedest man in the world." Taking the tantric sex introduced by Sir Richard Burton and the occult ideas that were in the air at the time, Crowley combined them with Nietzsche's "will to power" and his concept of the "over-man," or "superman" who by force of will and intellect is able to transcend the feeble Christian values of good and evil. The result was a witch's brew of unimaginably perverse sexual activity and occult rituals he called sex magick and that brought forth his most famous axiom: "Do What Thou Wilt Shall Be the Whole of the Law."
As we have already seen, the Bible says that there is no new thing under the sun. Crowley's newfangled law is just a regurgitation of what the Adam and Eve fell for in the garden: "You shall be as God -- determining for yourself what is good and evil."
For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:5).
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 8 : Part 3 -
"Do What Thou Wilt" - Witchcraft and Satanism
Unlike most of his contemporaries, Crowley, like Nietzsche, had the intellectual honesty -- or at least the nerve -- to call this worldview precisely what it was according to Scripture: satanic, beastly, devilish, anti-Christ. A half-century later, his American heir-apparent, Anton LaVey, founder of the Church of Satan, said precisely the same thing.
And so while witchcraft and goddess worship are a major conduit for the demonic energies that swirl in and through the abortion movement, there is another, more masculine component as well: good, old fashioned "Do What Thou Wilt" satanism.
And, back to Crowley: Aldous Huxley famously dined with him and it was rumored that the old beast took the opportunity to turn him on to peyote. Not only did the famed author of Brave New World later romanticize the emerging drug culture by writing The Doors of Perception, he also wrote the preface to Birth-control Methods by Australian sexologist and closet homosexual Norman Haire. A colleague of Ellis' and Hirschfield's and an attendee of the World Sex Congress of 1921, Haire, like the others, was a staunch supporter of gay rights and the eugenics movement.
But even more interesting and significant is the Crowley connection to perhaps the 20th century's most influential sexologist, Alfred Kinsey. Founder of the Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction at Indiana University -- now called the Kinsey Institute -- Kinsey, like his European counterparts, set out normalize all manner of deviant sexuality under the guise of objective science. Bisexual and with a penchant for masochism, Kinsey encouraged group sex among his graduate students and filmed sex acts in the attic of his home under the guise of research. Towards the end of his life, he, along with avant-garde filmmaker and Crowley disciple Kenneth Anger, visited the Great Beast at his lair at the Thelema Abbey in Siciliy.
Anger later observed, "Kinsey was obsessed with obtaining the Great Beast's day-to-day sex diaries... To obtain grant monies and maintain the support of the university, Kinsey needed the excuse of research to validate his twenty-four-hours-a-day obsession with sex."
That the man who perhaps more than any other was responsible for the "legitimization" of sexual perversion in the latter half of the 20th century was both a pervert and a fan of the century's most notable occultist is a fact that should be shouted from the housetops... as well as his connection to the abortion holocaust.
In April of 1955, 16 months before he died, Kinsey attended a clandestine conference on the abortion issue at the Arden House in Harriman, New York. Sponsored by Planned Parenthood and the New York Academy of Medicine, a report from the conference was published three years later.
Edited by Planned Parenthood's president, Dr. Mary Calderone, Abortion in The United States was the first serious apologetic on abortion rights. Kinsey was quoted as the leading "scientific" authority at the conference, citing data from his questionable research suggesting that illegal abortions were very common and dangerous while "therapeutic abortion" -- abortion performed by a doctor -- posed minimal health risks. In other words, legalizing abortion made perfect medical sense. Pregnancy, Birth and Abortion, published the same year by three Kinsey Institute researchers -- and dedicated to Kinsey -- made essentially the same argument.
Together, these books were a first major strike against America's abortion laws and provided the so-called scientific support for the prestigious American Law Institute's position on abortion. Codified in their 1959 draft of the Model Penal Code, the proposed law allowed for elective abortion in cases of rape, incest, fetal deformity, and threats to the mother's physical or mental health.
This last stipulation, mental health, of course, was the camel's nose in the tent that made abortion as a fall back method of birth control possible. All a woman had to do to get an abortion was say that having the unplanned baby would impinge on her happiness or peace-of-mind.
The door to abortion-on-demand was now open. New York was among the first states to walk through it and by 1970 had the most liberal abortion laws in the country. The Supreme Court forced the rest of the United States to follow in 1973, citing the ALI's Model Penal Code in its infamous Roe v. Wade decision.
"Do what thou wilt" became the whole of the law.
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 9 : Part 1 -
Defeating Jezebel
In one of the few instances where they agree, both _Ms. Magazine_ and the Bible label the various permutations of spirituality that support the feminists and abortion movements as "witchcraft." And biblically, witchcraft is linked to rebellion -- specifically, rebellion against God's authority.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft (1 Samuel 15: 23).
It is true that the state should have minimal say in deciding anyone's fate - male or female. But the state's intrusion into a woman's fate in forbidding abortion is nothing compared with the decision that the unborn child's fate should be death. In addition the Church, as God's representative in the earth, has an duty to proclaim the revealed will of God on every issue -- including child-killing -- binding men's consciences to the perfect will of their Creator, whether they like it or not.
Psalm 2 makes it clear that often they don't.
Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying, "Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us" (Psalm 2:1-3).
But this insistence that men don't have to be accountable to God and His laws should be seen for what it is: rebellion, childish futility, and a form of suicide. For in the end we don't just break God's laws, they will break us.
When we consider the word "witchcraft," one Bible personality stands out. Jezebel, more than anyone else in scripture, represents the corrupting influence of witchcraft. In the book of Kings, the prophet Elijah mentions Jezebel along with two of the satanic deities we have already discussed. He asks to see: "... the 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of Asherah who eat at Jezebel's table" (1 Kings 18:19).
Nearly one thousand years later Jesus spoke to the church at Thyatira in Asia Minor about another Jezebel:
"But I have one thing against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophetess and she teaches and leads my bond servants astray so that they commit acts of immortality and eat things sacrificed to idols" (Revelation 2:20).
This admonition cuts to the heart of the church today. Truly, the church here and throughout much of the world has become the modern equivalent of Thyatira. Jezebel has not only been tolerated, she has been celebrated, even ordained.
According to _WORLD_ magazine: "One of the Religious Left's premier organizations is the Religious Coalition for Abortion Rights. RCAR is a hard-line supporter of federally funded abortions and the Freedom of Choice Act (and) represents groups of liberal Presbyterians, Episcopalians, Lutherans, Brethren, Moravians, Jews, Humanists, and Unitarians" (Steve Beard, WORLD magazine, May 22, 1993).
And George Tiller, the infamous late-term abortion doctor who personally killed over 60,000 babies -- many of them viable children who could have lived if they had been removed by C-section -- was a member in good standing of a Lutheran church in his hometown of Wichita, Kansas. He was actually serving as an usher, with his wife in the choir, when he was shot and killed. While we condemn the vigilantism of his killer -- the fact remains that one of the worst mass-murderers in history was not only tolerated; he was allowed membership and even a place of service in a church that called itself "Christian."
God's command is that the Church "repent of her deeds" and drive Jezebel out of the Church and from our nation. To help us understand the magnitude of the battle this represents, the prophet Malachi announced that God would send the prophet Elijah before the great and terrible day of the Lord. 400 years later, Jesus connected John the Baptist with the ministry of Elijah. The distinguishing feature of both Elijah and John's lives was their boldness in confronting wickedness and their command to repent. Scripture calls this ministry: Preparing the Way of the Lord."
In the same way that Elijah confronted the wicked rulers of his time and John prepared the way for the advent of Christ by preaching repentance, so God's man in the earth, the Church, has the responsibility to confront injustice, particularly as it is directed against the weak and defenseless, the "least of these" in the words of Jesus.
There are many ways in which the Church has been called to "prepare the way" - the most notable being the Great Commission - to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel." But just as Jezebel was Elijah's greatest challenge, we too, must confront and defeat the forces of witchcraft that have manifested themselves through abortion. And just as Elijah was almost defeated by Jezebel and John was killed by the witchcraft of Herod's wife, we must also realize that this is no easy battle.
There can be no victory without the radical commitment to fight.
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 9 : Part 2 -
Defeating Jezebel
The spiritual pattern that led us our present abortion holocaust can be summarized as follows:
• Through the incestuous acts of Lot's daughters a new demonic foothold was established in the earth.
• Their descendants, the Moabites and Ammonites, became increasingly subject to this stronghold; leading eventually to the worship of a demonic deity -- identified variously as Asherah, Ashteroth, Moloch or Baal -- through child sacrifice.
• The religion spread as the gods and goddesses of fertility -- under various names -- were worshipped throughout the ancient pagan world as a part of a widespread "Mother Earth" cult. • The spread of Christianity in many areas began to suppress and eventually nearly eradicate these demonic practices as pagans were converted and light triumphed over darkness.
• As a result of apostasy and subsequent occult revivals -- for example like the one in seventeenth-century France -- earth cults, witchcraft and the worship of the goddess resurfaced in various forms. Witchcraft, as an organized religion, was revived in Europe and America beginning in middle part of the 20th century.
• And finally, goddess worship has resurfaced in the 20th and 21st centuries as feminist spirituality. Not coincidentally, abortion - today's form of child sacrifice -- has come right along with it.
It is important to note the historic rationale of those who in ancient times offered up their own children to idols. They believed that the sacrifice of blood rejuvenated and strengthened the deity to whom it was dedicated at the same time binding him or her to the offerer of the sacrifice. In other words, when they sacrificed their children to an idol, they became spiritual slaves to the demon it represented. Even more frightening was the effect upon the spirit - greater power was released through the outpouring of innocent blood.
The book of Kings recounts a battle where one of the descendants of Lot's daughters, the King of Moab, was about to face certain defeat at the hands of the Israelites and their larger though spiritually compromised army. In a desperate attempt to curry favor with his gods and gain the spiritual advantage, the king offered up his oldest son and heir on the wall of his city as a sacrifice. The fact that it was a burnt offering tells us that it was undoubtedly made to Baal, Moloch or Ashteroth. And what is even more sobering is what happened next. And there came great wrath against Israel. And they withdrew from him and returned to their own land. (2 Kings 3:21-27)
The sacrifice of innocent blood apparently tipped the scales and gave the pagan king victory over a more powerful army that was no longer enjoying the blessing of God.
The account of 2 Kings 3, the Moabite rebellion, is actually recorded by the king of Moab on the Mesha Stele, or "Moabite stone," which was discovered in 1868. In lines 15 -19 it says:
And I went in the night and fought against it from the daybreak until midday, and I took it and I killed the whole population: seven thousand male subjects and aliens, and female subjects, aliens, and servant girls. For I had devoted them to destruction for Ashtar Chemosh. And from there I took the vessels of Yahweh, and I presented them before the face of Chemosh. And the king of Israel had built Yahaz, and he stayed there throughout his campaign against me; and Chemosh drove him away before my face.
This amazing yet little known archaeological find corroborates the account of 2 Kings chapter 3:
When the king of Moab saw that the battle was too fierce for him, he took with him 700 men who drew swords, to break through to the king of Edom; but they could not. Then he took his oldest son who was to reign in his place, and offered him as a burnt offering on the wall. And there came great wrath against Israel, and they departed from him and returned to their own land (2 Kings 27,28).
The corroboration between the Moabite stone and the Bible dispels any doubt that the nations surrounding Israel were engaged in this monstrous practice of human sacrifice in the days of Elijah and Elisha in the 9th century before Christ.
Note that the Moabite stone mentions The Hebrew name for God, "Yawheh." It also confirms the human sacrifice that took place on the altar of Molech and Ashteroth.
Modern archaeologists believe that Chemosh and Molech were one and the same deity and that Ashtar is simple a regional variation of Ashteroth.
Thus Ashtar-Chemosh is the goddess of child sacrifice.
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 9 : Part 3 -
Defeating Jezebel
Evil will ultimately be allowed to prevail, at least initially, against the backslider almost every time. This is a principle America would do well to consider as the spiritual heritage of the Moabites and Ammonites is alive and well in our own day through abortion. The church is now fighting against those same spiritual forces for the very survival of our nation. Without true repentance and all-out spiritual warfare, what are our chances for victory when the demons' lust is now being gorged on the blood of not just one, but well over a million children sacrificed each year?
The land that God chose to bring His people into after their long captivity in Egypt was filled with nations that practiced child sacrifice. And what was his commandment to Israel?
When you cross over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, then shall you drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. And destroy all their molten images and demolish all their high places" (Numbers 33:51, 52).
How do we to "drive out pagan idolatry and demolish their high places" in the New Covenant? Should we, like the ancient Israel, attack the individuals responsible for the idolatry?
Absolutely not -- for our ultimate battle is not against flesh and blood.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).
In Old Testament times, the Holy Spirit had not yet been given in the way that we experience Him today. Without access to the sanctuary, to the throne of God, mere men had neither the anointing nor the authority to confront the demonic powers directly. In order to defeat the forces of wickedness, there was no recourse except to destroy the people through whom those forces acted.
But with the coming of Jesus, the whole balance of power changed. For the first time we see a man directly confronting the spiritual forces of darkness. Jesus even defines this as one of the primary signs that the kingdom of God has come into this world: Show: "But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you." Luke 11:20
God's people can now direct their efforts to the real problem: the spiritual realm.
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete (2 Corinthians 10:3-6).
The simple, glorious fact is, Jesus has defeated Satan. As a new Adam, He has given the earth back to man -- specifically his born-again descendents --and has re-commissioned them to subdue and cultivate -- in a word "heavenize" -- this world.
And He has granted us all manner of precious and magnificent promises that we can and will, in the end, prevail:
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Sit at my right hand (the Father told Jesus after His enthronement) until I make all your enemies a footstool for your feet.(Psalm 110: 1)
All things are possible for one who believes. Mark 9:23
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world -- our faith.1 John 5:4
(Jesus said) I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 This last verse -- and there are many more like these five -- is particularly relevant to our subject matter here because of its mention of gates and hell.
Gates in the Bible represent places of authority -- economic, government and military -- and are thus critically important from a spiritual warfare perspective. They're also primarily defensive in nature. So the picture we have in this glorious promise by Jesus is one of the Church charging the gates -- the stronghold of hell -- and hell not being able to withstand the assault.
This great truth was wonderfully echoed in the famous quote by the renowned missionary C.T. Studd: "Some wish to live within the sound of a chapel bell; I wish to run a rescue mission within a yard of hell."

Tearing Down the High Places
by Eric Holmberg and Jay Rogers
And (Josiah) defiled Topheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, that no one might burn his son or his daughter as an offering to Molech (2 Kings 23:10).
While there are over 6 billion people on planet earth right now, there's a sense -- from what theologians call a "federal" perspective -- that there really are only two people: the first and then the second or last Adam. All of us are born into this world in the likeness and through the lineage of the first Adam. Fallen, locked in our ego-boxes, "My will be done" forms the bars in our prison of original sin. But, by the amazing grace of God, we can be born again after the likeness of the new and last Adam, the LORD Jesus Christ where "Thy will be done" becomes the cry of our hearts.
Thus it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being"; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit" (1 Corinthians 15:35)
Just as there is an upward trajectory for those who are born again in the likeness of the last Adam: as we have seen, one that takes us from strong affection to the "greater love" where we're willing to lay down our lives for others so there is also a downward trajectory for those who are of the first Adam. Its nadir, its lowest point? Well, there's no greater selfishness than this, that someone would lay down the life of his child for his own convenience.
In the battle for life against child sacrifice in all its many permutations, the enmity that is between the seed of the woman -- [Christ] the Church -- and the seed of the serpent -- the devil -- finds perhaps its greatest expression.
This is where heaven and hell meet. Heaven will win, but for America it may well be when God raises up an enemy to do to us what the Romans did to Carthage. The only hope for a victory that pre-empts that level of judgment is for a spiritual revival and national repentance like Israel experienced in Josiah's reign. And while these great gifts are for the Sovereign Lord to give; there is no question that we have a responsibility to "prepare the way of the Lord."
And that can only happen if a significant remnant -- and that may, or rather should include you -- become "forked-lightning Christians" who agape God and are willing to lay down their lives for others.
America is becoming increasingly ungodly, humanistic and even pagan -- in large part because the Church has become complacent and culturally irrelevant.
As Jesus made clear, when the salt looses its saltiness and the light becomes dark, it is little wonder when the culture the Church is called to serve begins to rot.
Most modern Christians are ignorant of the historical precedent for revival even in the face of militant paganism. With pagan immorality being codified at the highest levels of government, there is a great need for the Church to fulfill her prophetic role in resistance to idolatry.
Is it still possible for God's people to turn the tide towards righteousness? So that we don't succumb to defeatism, let's consider the dark days Israel experienced when she was in bondage to slavery in Egypt. In that day, thousands of baby boys were slaughtered by Pharaoh in an attempt to stamp out the prophetic deliverer who was about to come on the scene. Although Satan tried to do away with Moses, his life was spared and he grew to be a man within the Pharaoh's own courts! Later Moses delivered Israel out of bondage.
In Elijah's day, the prophets of Baal sacrificed thousands of the first born on altars in defiance of God's law. Yet Elijah slew the prophets of Baal and God later raised up a company of 7,000 young men who defeated King Ahab and Queen Jezebel.
Then just before Jesus was born, the wicked King Herod learned through the Magi that another King was about to be born in Bethlehem. A great slaughter of innocent baby boys ensued. Yet the baby Jesus' life was spared and He grew to be the One that would deliver the entire cosmos from the bondage of sin and Satan.
Often throughout redemptive history, a season of great darkness, sometimes punctuated with a massacre of innocents, is the very womb from which God brings forth a deliverer -- and a great deliverance.
Could history be repeating itself?
Although the hour is dark for America and over fifty million children have been slaughtered, there may yet be a prophetic generation from among the survivors who will go forth in the spirit and power of Elijah to confront wickedness, stop the massacre of innocents and see our nation turn back to God.
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 10 : Part 2 -
Tearing Down the High Places
by Eric Holmberg and Jay Rogers
1. Repent of all compromise. Judgment begins in the house of God. We must forsake any and all sin -- particularly of a sexual nature -- that feeds into this holocaust. Complacency, love of ease, materialism, as well as other besetting sins, must all be taken to the cross.
2. Turn and do good. As the Lord leads, support with both your time and finances ministries of mercy that serve as an antidote to abortion and the needs and worldviews that feed into it. That can be anything from supporting an orphanage, an orphan or the chronically poor (abortion, after all is deemed necessary to alleviate the problem of poverty or so-called unwanted children) -- to helping a crisis pregnancy center or an NGO that is defending life or abstinence-based sex-education. There are all manner of ways you can obey God and his clear and oft-repeated commands to seek justice, love mercy, correct oppression, bring justice to the fatherless, and plead the widow's cause.
Allow me to mention something here that I trust you won't take in a wrong way. Some of us -- including myself -- did the wrong thing with our unwanted child. If we've truly repented, God has forgiven us. But the simple fact is that we saved ourselves a lot of money by having one less child to raise. (Show a couple walking in to a Crisis Pregnancy center.) Please pray about giving some of that money or your time to support someone who may be struggling financially because they chose the right thing. Or in some other way, overcome the evil you did with good.
This isn't something you have to do -- it's something you get to do -- that your joy -- and perhaps your healing -- may be made full.
3. Commit ourselves to the battle for life with the zeal, resolve and understanding commensurate with the challenge before us. We must see abortion for what it is -- the murder of children -- and then live our lives accordingly. How would you have acted if you lived down the road from Auschwitz and saw the trains loaded with people being taken to the ovens? Would you have stood with William Wilberforce and his co-conspirators in their long sacrificial battle to stop slavery in the British Empire? We are never going to see the victory over this magnitude of satanic and entrenched evil if we're not willing to pledge our "lives, fortunes and sacred honor" to the cause.
4. Pray. In both this program as well as in the extras on this DVD we provide you with a lot of spiritual insights as well as practical tools and methodologies to wage an effective war in the spiritual realm.
5. Proclaim, evangelize and disciple. The prime directive the Lord left us with was to disciple nations, teaching them to observe His commands. Sadly, for many today the Great Commission has become the greater "omission." That has to change.
We can, we must do this. A lie carries within it the seeds of its own destruction, truth its own victory.
Even with the occult revivals, the sexual revolution, the propaganda from the media and Planned Parenthood, the brain-washing from the government school system, all this and much more, most Americans remain sympathetic to the pro-life cause. By simply proclaiming, defending and living out the truth we can and will see the lie exposed and ultimately destroyed.
But there are a few things that need to be emphasized here. As in everything, Jesus is our model for personal and cultural transformation. We need to use wisdom and an assortment of apologetical techniques that can range from asking questions and really listening... to strong, prophetic challenges. We must also, like Jesus, strive to minister from a place of love, humility or brokenness and servanthood, ever keeping in mind that the kingdom comes first from within hearts and then spreads from the bottom up, and not from the top down.
We must ever be on guard against the deception of "healing the wounds of sin only a little, saying, 'Peace, peace,' when there is no peace."
It's all too easy to fall into the trap of thinking you're sufficiently pro-life because you vote or talk that that way or have a pro-life license plate or observe sanctity-of-life Sunday in your church. But child-killing is the greatest moral evil of our time (see point 3 that we just looked at) and ending it demands a level of awareness, rhetoric, and action commensurate with that evil. It can't be just another issue that we lump along with -- and tragically far too often beneath -- AIDS in Africa, poverty, slavery, pornography, the attack on traditional marriage or the environment -- as vital as those issues are.
The Abortion Matrix - Chapter 10 : Part 3 -
Tearing Down the High Places
by Eric Holmberg and Jay Rogers
God will never stop abortion in America -- at least not without catastrophic judgment -- until enough of us pray and act like it is what it is: murder, infanticide, the sacrifice of children in our own back-yards.
Always remember that as Christians we are laboring to save lives and souls. Some of the most meaningful evangelistic outreaches occur at the gates of hell -- the abortion clinics of America -- in regard to the people going in as well as those who work there. Norma McCorvey, the Roe of Roe v. Wade, as well as ex-abortion providers Carol Everett, Dr. Bernard Nathanson, Dr. Beverly McMillan, and Joy Davis are just some of those who are not only pro-life now, they have become Christians through the evangelistic witness of pro-life activists.
6. Develop vital pro-life relationships, particularly as regards your local church. If your present church is cold or lukewarm on this issue and is not open to change, leave that church and find one that is genuinely committed to being salt and light. And then find a place of service, of genuine engagement in the battle. Unity, covenantal relationships, accountability and mutual encouragement -- all our critically important in keeping your heart burning and your efforts focused, faithful, enduring and ultimately victorious.
7. Be faithfully politically. At minimum that involves supporting pro-life candidates for local, state and national office as well as putting pressure on your elected officials to support life issues. Yes, there are other important issues besides abortion. But none are more important. It is the only thing we are sanctioning as a society that completely and irrevocably denies the victim her right to her most basic, constitutionally protected rights -- life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. A candidate who isn't right on this issue cannot possibly be a righteous ruler.
When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan. Proverbs 29:2
As a nation America has sanctioned child-killing now for over a quarter century. It's become an accepted, deeply entrenched and increasingly tax-payer supported evil. Stopping it may seem to some an impossible dream. Well, it's not the first time the God of the impossible has thrust his people into impossible situations.
"For nothing will be impossible with God" (Luke 1:37).
Consider Moses as told Pharaoh to let God's people go...or later stood before the Red Sea with Egypt's army in hot pursuit. Ask Gideon as he took on the armies of Midian or Nehemiah as he set out to rebuild Jerusalem. And just less than two centuries ago, people said "It's not possible!" to William Wilberforce as he took on the slave trade.
Our God is God of the impossible -- One who delights in using the weak and foolish things of the world to defeat the worldy-wise and powerful.
But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong (1 Corinthians 1:27).
There can be no doubt that should a remnant -- a Gideon company, if you will -- arise and obey God in regard to the truths we've explored in this presentation, God will once again hear from heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land.
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
May the LORD help you to be one in that company. AMEN
