1. The Crusades and the Inquisition were NOT a Christian endeavor, they were a Catholic endeavor. The Inquisition was done against the true Christians.
2. Many of the people persecuted by Catholics over the years were true Christians opposing Rome.
3. The Jesuits ruined their own reputation BUT in the process they also damaged God's. The Jesuits pretended to be part of the very thing they wished to destroy - The true church of God.
4. In the 18th century, people tried to create a Godless society for the first time .
5. The Enlightenment was an anti-God movement, a reaction to Catholic / Jesuit excesses (corruptions, and violence).
6. They turned away from the Tree of Life (God) and turned to the tree of knowledge (man)
Did NOT make a distinction between Christian - Rome - Catholic Church.

1. Deism minimised God's role
- The belief that there is a creator but after creation the creator did not interact with creation.
- Belief that no holy book contains the absolute truth.
- Belief that all gods of the world are the same but under different names. (Christianity was now being thrown in with the Mystery religions)
- Diests tended to choose impersonal names for God like "providence".
- Creator could not be known personally.
- A forerunner to Pantheism: (God is nature/ creation) God is usually referred to as female ( Mother Nature / Mother Earth / Gaia)
- A forerunner to Universalism: Believe that everyone will get to heaven through their own gods.
- Began to think of god is scientific terms
- Grand Architect of the Universe (GAOTU) had a plan but plan would just unfold naturally as people gained knowledge and moved toward "enlightenment".
- Began to join Freemason Lodges (Deism - Babylonian Mysteries)

1. Ruling elite (philosopher kings or guardians) - Those with special knowledge.
2. Auxiliaries (soldiers, police and civil servants to keep everyone in check)
3. Workers (the rest of us; the masses). (NO Middleclass)
- Average people were nothing more than labouring beasts of the field, fit for nothing else but slavery and that they should therefore submit unquestioningly to the ruling elite who, because of their superior and enlightened knowledge, would direct their lives for the greater good. Sound familiar?:

- The individual exists merely for the benefit of the state.
- Those at the top of the hierarchy could manipulate, kill and control human beings as they wished as long as it was for the ‘greater good’. [The end justifies the means. - Like the Jesuits!]
How to Bring in this new Society:
- A clean slate:
For this new order of things to be introduced, the former way of things must be first wiped out.
“[Philosopher kings must] take the city and the characters of men, as they might a tablet, and first wipe it clean–no easy task. " (Plato)
- Use propaganda:
"So the idea is not to tell people what is truly right and wrong but only to make them believe what it is you want them to believe in order that that they might best be manipulated for your own specific end." (Plato)
- Children should be raised by the state who will instruct them in the ways required to bring about change – not the truth about right and wrong – simply the ideas that will manipulate their minds into believing what they want them to believe.
“All inhabitants above the age of ten … they will send out into the fields, and they will take over the children, remove them from the manners and habits of their parents, and bring them up in their own customs and laws which will be such as we have described. This is the speediest and easiest way in which such a city and constitution as we have portrayed could be established and prosper and bring most benefit to the people among whom it arises.”
- Society should have a military type of structure:
