Steps to Salvation and Prayer of Salvation

1 ACKNOWLEDGE
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

2. REPENT
Luke 13:3 I tell you, nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

3. CONFESS
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

4. FORSAKE
Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

5. BELIEVE
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

6. RECEIVE
John 1:11-12 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

PRAYER of SALVATION
A prayer you may pray to invite Jesus to come into your heart:

Father God,

I come to You just as I am. There is nothing I can do to earn salvation. I know that I am a sinner and I ask Your forgiveness for all the wrong, in thought, word and deed, that I have ever done.

Wash me clean with the precious, life-giving blood of Jesus Christ, Your Son. I believe He took my sin upon Himself and died on the cross for me. And I believe that He was raised from the dead, giving me power over my enemy, Satan.

I want to turn from my sins. I don't understand everything about being a Christian, but I invite You to come into my heart and life.

I ask for the powerful indwelling of Your Holy Spirit to strengthen me and to guide and teach me. I will read my Bible and pray to seek Your truth so that I will know You and Your love better and so I will understand what sin is, so that I stop doing the things that grieve You.

Jesus, I will trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. With the help of The Holy Spirit, I will strive, daily, to walk in obedience with You.

Thank You, Father, for Your gift of restoration and eternal life.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Now, tell someone about your decision to be a Christian. Jesus tells us that this is important: “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven."- Matthew 10: 32-33

I AM (GOD) :
Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' The WORD (JESUS):
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. . . The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' " - John 1: 1-2, 14-15 NIV

The COMFORTER (the HOLY SPIRIT):
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. - John 14:26 King James Version

Scripture is the Holy Word of God. The Bible says it is "God-breathed". The Bible also tells us that that the things of God are Spirit and we need the Spirit to understand them.
For this reason I ask, every time, before you read scripture, pray to God:
"God through your Holy Spirit, give me understanding as I read your Word, and as You give me understanding, give me the faith I need to believe what You have shown me."
Then, every time, after reading, pray again:
"Lord, thank you for helping me to read your Word. Continue to help me to understand your Word and contunue to build up my faith so I will follow your Word and apply it to my life."
These are prayers that both believers and non-believers can pray because the Holy Spirit can work from outside a non-believer.
All believers should pray to ask the Holy Spirit to indwell their being. At that point, the bodies of the believers become the temple of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is as close as our very bodies and the Holy Spirit will help us from within.

Prayer For America

When Rev. Joe Wright prayed before the Kansas House of Representatives - he prayed a specific prayer about the sin of America. However, it was not met with great respect since political correctness involves overlooking sin rather than calling it out and dealing with it. In essence, that is what is wrong with America today. The prayer that he read in 1996 states the following:

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ” Woe to those who call evil good. ” but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We confess that:

We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.
We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.
We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot the abortionist and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of your will. I ask it in the Name of Your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

This prayer was a version of the 1955 prayer which was prayed by another minister named Bob Russell. . . . . we must agree that their prayer should be the cry of all of our hearts. For God’s glory - may we all be turned to repentance in order to see our great Nation healed from the problems of sin!

The Weak and the Strong
Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written: " 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' "[Isaiah 45:23 ] So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died. Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.
Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall.
So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves. But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

Colossians 2: 16-23

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.
Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.
